A cloche design with an Irish twist. A contemporary piece inspired in the 1920’s. The felted tweed remnants give this piece its original Irish twist.
Like all my hats it has been designed understanding hats as a way to express ourselves, to feel elegant and special. But also, as a practical garment. That’s why my felt hat designs are comfortable and warm. I have used Merino wool, which is soft against the skin, as well as durable.
They have been individually crafted in Dublin, Ireland, using the ancient art of felt making.
Like a lot of us now, I believe the fashion future is in sustainable, ethical, slow fashion. Hand felting is, as well as a sustainable process, a process that invites us to slow down. Allowing time, hands on their own were able to create the alchemy, and transform fibres into felt just with the help of water and soap.
